The City of Davenport's Duck Creek Wild Auxiliary Club and River Action is hosting a Duck Creek Riparian Zone Restoration Event adjacent to Duck Creek near Valley Vista Rd and E George Washington Blvd. We will be planting hundreds of bluebell plugs at the location.
This is a great opportunity to enjoy and protect our water resources.
Who can Participate? This opportunity is open to anyone interested in beautifying Davenport and protecting the health of our local waterways. No previous experience is necessary. Individuals under the age of 18 must have adult supervision.
Description of Project:
Volunteers will be planting bluebell plugs and removing some debris and invasive/weedy material during the event. Planting, weeding, and debris pickup consists of walking, bending, kneeling, and placing wastes in a bag and carries little hazard. Volunteers will receive appropriate tools and safety instruction before planting.
Social distancing will be observed, and masks are highly encouraged when volunteers cannot remain six feet apart. Volunteers should wear clothing appropriate for weather conditions and get dirty.
