Help us celebrate the City's 43rd year as a Tree City USA by planting trees! Cleanup and Greenup is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the spring and help protect our natural resources. Aside from planting beneficial trees, participants can take pride in leaving a legacy in Davenport, have fun, make new friends, and receive sunglasses for their efforts to help us improve our community.

Who can Participate? This opportunity is open to anyone interested in beautifying Davenport and protecting our natural resources. No previous experience is necessary. Individuals under the age of 17 must have adult supervision.

Description of Project: Volunteers will be digging holes, planting trees, and picking up litter along the planting route. Litter pickup consists of walking, bending, and placing wastes in a bag for disposal and carries little hazard. Tree planting requires some lifting. The equipment to be used shall include gloves, bags, shovels, and/or spades.

Weather? Weather can be a bit variable in late April. We will only cancel if there is a chance for significant rain, snow, high winds, or the threat of lightning. Just remember to dress for the conditions. Follow-up with all registered volunteers will occur on the Thursday before the cleanup as a reminder and heads-up regarding any weather impacts.

By registering for and participating in this cleanup I agree I will not hold any coordinating or sponsoring organization or their officers, employees and agents, or any other volunteer associated with any cleanup activities whether as a result of their negligence or the negligence of others, responsible for any injuries or damages that may occur as a result of participation.

I understand and agree the activity I am participating in is one where the possibility exists, however slight, that injury could occur. I am in adequate physical condition to engage in this activity.

I give permission for my likeness captured on video, photo and digital camera during the event to be used solely for the purposes of promoting the event on their Web site or in any promotional material or publications, and waive any rights of compensation or ownership.

I understand this is a volunteer activity and will receive no compensation of any kind for labor rendered during this cleanup.
