As winter changes to spring, we are often left with roads littered with debris left behind by snow and strong winter winds. The Corridor Cleanup is an excellent opportunity to help us keep our streets and streams clean and our community shine.
As a volunteer, you will:

Who can Participate? This opportunity is open to anyone interested in beautifying Davenport and protecting the health of our local waterways. No previous experience is necessary. Individuals 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Description of Project: Volunteers will help pick up litter along major corridors throughout the city. Activities include walking, bending, and collecting debris for proper disposal. The work is low risk but will take place in the boulevards of highly trafficked areas. Volunteers will receive safety instructions and safety vests before the cleanup. Due to the proximity of traffic, some areas may not be suitable for younger children.
Weather? March weather can be unpredictable - it might be a sunny day with a high of 50 or a cool, drizzly day around 35 degrees. Past volunteers have embraced the challenge and enjoyed the cleanup in all weather conditions. Because of difficulties associated with canceling and rescheduling, we will clear litter in light rain and low temperatures; however, it may end earlier for volunteer comfort. We will only cancel if there is a chance for significant rain, snow, high winds, or the threat of lightning. Just remember to dress for the conditions.
We will contact all registered volunteers on the Thursday before the cleanup as a reminder and heads-up regarding any weather impacts.
