Event Description

Fairmount Cemetery is one of the only remaining remnant prairies in Iowa, home to many rare plant species.

Volunteers will remove brush and invasive black locust trees from the prairie, allowing native plants to return. Loppers, saws and gloves will be provided. This event is recommended for those 16 and older.

Volunteers are requested to wear pants, sturdy close-toed shoes, hats and gloves. Gloves will be provided to those who do not have their own. Bug spray and sunscreen is recommended.

By registering for and participating in this cleanup I agree I will not hold any coordinating or sponsoring organization or their officers, employees and agents, or any other volunteer associated with any cleanup activities whether as a result of their negligence or the negligence of others, responsible for any injuries or damages that may occur as a result of participation.
