Join Partners of Scott County Watersheds for the Fall Snapshot Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Event! This is your opportunity to become a citizen scientist for the day and gather important data about the health of Scott County's watersheds. The valuable data gathered by volunteers will assist PSCW in implementing water quality improvement projects in the county. No experience is necessary, and anyone is welcome to participate!
Volunteers will meet at the Eldridge Fire Department to be trained to perform simple tests in the field to measure water quality. While you train, we will have coffee and donuts available.
After training, volunteers will be divided into groups and assigned to 5-7 sites in Scott County to collect data. Volunteers will then return to the Fire Dept. at noon for a FREE pizza lunch and some time to mingle.
All materials will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothing that can get wet and/or muddy (long pants/sleeves, waterproof shoes or rain boots, hats, sunscreen, and bug spray). This event will happen rain or shine.
