Event Description

Join Partners of Scott County Watersheds for the Summer Snapshot Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Event! This is your opportunity to become a citizen scientist for the day and gather important data about the health of Scott County's watersheds. The valuable data gathered by volunteers will assist PSCW in raising funds for water quality improvement projects in the county. No experience is necessary, and anyone is welcome to participate!

Volunteers will meet at the Eldridge Fire Department to be trained to perform simple tests in the field to measure water quality.  Then, volunteers will be divided into groups and assigned to 5-7 sites in Scott County to collect data. Volunteers will return at noon for a FREE pizza lunch and FREE t-shirts!

All materials will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothing that can get wet and/or muddy (long pants/sleeves, waterproof shoes or rain boots, hats, sunscreen, and bug spray). This event will happen rain or shine.

If you would like to be placed in a group with people you did not register with, or if you have a preference to test chemical or biological parameters, please email info@partnersofscottcountywatersheds.org to let us know!
