Event Description

Help remove trash along the riverfront and in Pigeon Creek Park! Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants and sleeves, close-toed/rubber-soled shoes, bug spray, sunscreen, and a hat. Gloves, trash bags, and litter tongs will be provided.

Become a citizen scientist at this event! The Quad Cities has been selected for Phase 2 of the Mississippi River Plastic Pollution Initiative. The data gathered in the Quad Cities will be analyzed to understand the state of plastic litter in river communities in the region. The goal is to generate as rich a picture as possible of the extent and type of litter heading to the Mississippi River.
