Q: What is Xstream Cleanup?

A: Xstream Cleanup is a Quad Cities initiative to clean up our waterways and community with the goal of maintaining clean water for drinking, recreation, wildlife and commerce. Visit our History page to learn more about the origins of Xstream Cleanup.

Q: When and where can I volunteer?

A: We have events taking place throughout the spring, summer and fall months at locations around the Quad Cities area. Visit our Events page to join an upcoming cleanup!

Q: What kind of work does this involve?

A: There’s a wide variety of ways you can help Xstream Cleanup. We have everything from true dirty work, water sampling and pulling debris from area waterways to helping us pick up litter and remove invasive species from our area. Q: What do I need to bring to an Xstream Cleanup event?

A: That varies by what kind of event you’re volunteering at, but generally speaking, old clothes, closed-toe shoes and a good attitude is all that’s needed. Visit our Resources page for more specifics.

Q: What if there’s foul weather?

A: In the event of inclement weather, your event coordinator will contact you via phone or email to either delay, reschedule or cancel your event. You can also check the website for event information.

Q: How can I create my own Xstream Cleanup event?
